I mentioned before that Chopper thinks he is smaller than he is.
In fact, he can make himself very small, folding himself up
like a dog version of a collapsible metal-and-canvas camp chair.
1. Chopper, full-size, snugged up beside Husband on a Saturday morning:
2. The miniaturization process begins with relaxing the entire length of his spine,
making sure his puppybutt is snugged back into the corner
of the space which he occupies.
3. Assemble all four paws so that all toes fit into
one 5" x 5" square space.
4. Fold head over paws and relax all muscles and joints.
Think "small."
5. It is now possible to apply a clean dogshell.
6. Seal edges and store dog.
When it's time to play, reverse the process and he is,
once again, a full-size dog
with gangly legs and riding-crop tail.

Aren't they flexible and bendable, these critters.
They also know that they are not going to be shooed away when they insinuate themselves into a human's space. Given half a chance they will, however, unfold and expand at the slightest shift of a human buttock and take over the whole space.
You described his posture well, June. In the fourth photo, I even noticed his tail curved up from the back to the front by his paws!

That's amazing. We could use a dog like that when we go on trips. There's so little room in the car once we pack all of our stuff into it.
