See that "Ponder this" up there?
The Quote of the day for today is:
The true way to gain much, is never to desire to gain too much. ~Francis Beaumont
I wonder if Francis, whoever he may be, ever considered a fat woman eating Valentine's Day penuche fudge for breakfast, when he made that memorable statement.
Who ever desires to gain much at all, never mind "too much"?
Who ever desires to gain much at all, never mind "too much"?

Gaining much? I guess that was once a positive thing, not like today's desire to "lose much." Pounds, that is. Clever take on that quote... :-)
Funny how we think in terms of weight with the word "gain". I did the same before I read your take on it.
that stuff looks disgusting.
Eating it for breakfast would make me sick.
I hate to admit that that is my kind of breakfast...washed down with a Diet Coke of course!
He obviously didn't grow up in a big family !
It's illogical , anyway . What would you have gained if breakfast had been a thin slice of dry toast ? Two pieces of dry toast and a wistful smile ?
This way , you were set up nicely for the day and everybody gained .
I'm a fan of fudge - but that much sugar that early would definitely make me queasy and be "too much!" PS I'm really having trouble with the new anti-spam!
It is good to learn to be content with one's lot. (If at all possible) - I guess it is the secret of a happy life.
I don't know. I think that if I hadn't wanted to gain as much knowledge or joy as I possibly could, I would not have gained that.
Funny. I didn't even think of weight. But, then, I am overweight so I try NOT to think of it, maybe!
Strange quote to my way of thinking.
