Good to see them side by side . Not that any of the three sounds like a word one would want to feel the need of too often .
Several months ago I read a novel (the title escapes me, as does the story . . . it isn't important) that was sprinkled throughout with these three words. As if the author were trying to commit them to memory and make them a permanent part of her vocabulary.
I use tortuous now and then but don't think I've ever used the other two.
Well, I've spent far too much time scribbling notes to try and string together a clever sentence with all three words, but it's proved far too torturous for me. I did, but doubts crept in to its correctness? is that even a word? now I'll have to take a rest to get over this tortuous exchange which in itself is most likely tortious.
-chuckle- that's very likely the biggest bit of nonsense I've ever written :) :)
