There is a large golden object in the sky: It must what we used to call the Sun.
It's wonderful, awesome!
The snow is melting and I used the shovel to chop off hunks of it to clear a little more of the front porch. There are clear spots in the driveway so I can frog hop from one to another to make my way from car to house and vice versa.
It is warm enough, at forty-one-degrees-with-sun to have gone to the supermarket jacketless. Everybody's smiling and chatting instead of hunkering down turtle-like into their coat collars, with eyes squinted against frigid gusts of iced air. As I exited the store, one of the managers was coming in. He held out his arms, palms up, looked at the sky and exulted: It's not snowing!
More!
I want more!
I am greedy for sun!

Make the most of the Large Golden Object . More White Stuff will follow . Take it from one who knows .
Yes, it's just so nice to have some warmth on your back instead of sleet drizzling down your neck. Everything just feels so much more hopeful. Let's hope smitoniusandsonata is wrong ...
Oh yay for sunshine. I'm so missing the sun, that when I saw that bright glowing orb, I was afraid it would be followed by Zombies. But it's real, spring is right around the corner.
You are making progress in the snow removal area. We are also losing some here today. Sun looks good to me.
Sun shone on me today - aren't I lucky? It's usually just wet stuff!!
Hooray!!! A little ray of hope.
Yes, the sun's warmth can bring out the best of us, when it seems it has not forsaken us afterall.
It's not that we are sun worshippers, but 'Dear Sun, We miss you! '
HI June, YES---we all are yearning for sunshine and warmer temperatures this time of year especially. We had a pretty wicked winter this year --so that will make Spring even more glorious.
Bring on the sunshine.
Hugs,
Betsy
The sun has been shining brightly here all week so far--and temps in the upper 40's and even lower 50's! There's nary any snow left in the yard and I feel the urge to go out and turn dirt for flower seed planting. The frozen tundra is yielding to that golden orb and I am so looking forward to seeing the colour of green again.
