Ten thoughts upon returning to work after staycation

...in no particular order.

I don't want to go.
It's a perfect day to mow the lawn.
I miss my nap.
Next vacation day is x number of days away.
All these books are due back to the library on Saturday and I haven't read half of them!
From end of next vacation to surgery/recovery is x number of days.
I hate clocks.
I love being home so much: Is this agoraphobia?
How soon would I get tired of eating milk and crackers if I retired?
Who will be here to appreciate all this if I'm at work?

I can't think of a thing to say to make it better . . . there is, indeed, no place like home.

Although I love my job, I can wholeheartedly agree with you. I keep trying to figure out how I can retire early....don't think it will happen.

I'm retired and if I had to eat milk and crackers to stay retired I'd do it with a smile, and I hate milk.

You'll be back at work half an hour and it will feel as though you've never been away......

But just think how blissful it will be to retire? I know; and it doesn't stop being blissful.

I love this post. I can so relate. My favorites are your first two. The second - "It's a perfect day to mow the lawn," made me laugh out loud.

Returning to work is always such a bummer after being snuggled up in the security blanket called 'home'. 'Work' is a four-letter word. 'Home' is a four-letter hug.

When I mow the lawn this afternoon I will think about you and smile. Consider it my contribution to 'sympathy pain'.

Go for chocolate milk.

I love that word "staycation".

My husband is away on a canal boat trip. There's just my son and I, the weather is lovely and we are just pottering around the garden and house. Loads of chats with neighbours, up to the shops for some fresh bread to go with lettuce from the garden. I could get used to this, whether I'd feel the same if it was wintertime...

I love your word "staycation" - you obviously enjoyed it. I hope it has buoyed you up for going back to work.

Your agoraphobia 'claim' made me laugh!

Just think, you are too young to stay at home!

So many of us are past retirement age, that's why we have all this enforced leisure which we have to fill with writing pretty meaningless blogposts just to keep ourselves occupied.

We are has-beens, no account layabouts, nobody wants us.!!!

Now, does that make you feel better?

Now then, get yourself off to work!

A list that makes perfect sense to me - the first sums up all the rest.

So funny! I've had the self same thought about agoraphobia. I just love my home so much, I don't like to leave. But I do. I think that's what keeps me from a definite diagnosis.

Ahh back to the routine. Next vacation time will be along before you know it. If you're not going to be eating those crackers, I'll be happy to take them off of your hands. ;)
