I am restored.

The beautiful and sunny weekend restored me.
Angus and Max poodled around among the fruit trees.
You can just see Angus' little sprout of a tail at the left among the shrub branches.

Angus is subject to sudden bursts of joyful Run Back To Mom energy.

Max realized that now he was down there all by himself . . .

. . . and trudged back up the lawn.

The wood man dropped off two cords of firewood.
We're all set for this winter and next; this represents future warmth and security.
Two more loads will come before winter sets in for real.

Husband called Neighbor Farmer: "Does your kid want to stack some wood?"
The young man, in his early teens and therefore eager to establish himself as strong and able,
will be along this week to stack all that.
Farm kids are the best.

Husband puttered with other things.
I wandered up the field and took pictures.

I hardly ever go up in that direction. It certainly offers a different perspective.
It makes us look like Little House on the Prairie folk.

What a blue blue sky! And it does have a bit of the "Little House on the Prairie" look. Glad you are restored!

That's what weekends are for...lucky you didn't have to stack the wood.

I've always thought of you as Little House On The Prairie folk . I know you drive a trap about , wearing a pinny and poke-bonnet , buy yard-goods and make everyone's clothes , can beans and knit mittens at quilting bees*.
The shots of your house just confirm it .
* It gets a bit blurry at this point , rather like Wonder Woman whirlwinds .

Wow, what a beautiful home you have. I'm envious of your firewood, right now...there are snowflakes falling outside our window...big ones.

That last photo really could be a house out on the Prairie! I think with two more loads coming, you'll have a bit more wood than we do, June. Be careful hauling it to the house this winter, I know you do that sometimes!

Love seeing your wide open spaces - must you mow all that grass? Sure glad you have an able-bodied young neighbor to do the stacking! How's the eye?

I loved your word 'poodled', it brought out a nice warm smile in me. Hah, I just now noticed my puppers was snoring on the floor.

Your "Little House on the Prairie" is really beautiful. I loved your photos. I can't imagine stacking all that wood. It is a good thing that we can call on strong young men.

What a beautiful place!

I used to really like to stack wood. Now I think my back would object. Thank goodness for strong young men.

S&S, oh yes, that's exactly right. Me, right down to a T. (Sure, sure.)

Wanda, all the wood that I'll be bringing stoveward is on the porch that's attached to the house. All I need do is fill the wagon and roll it through a doorway. Husband makes it easy on me that way, bless his little heart.

Barb, most of the field is hayfield, so no . . . we only mow around the house, a few hundred feet out in every direction. It's really a fun chore on the tractor....hot sunny day, breeze in my face...
Oh. And my eyelid is still pinkish in one spot, but no longer freakishly swollen.

Don't American houses have fences round them?

If this were the UK, you'd have fences or walls and a shrubbery and a deep ditch between you and neighbour, and woe betide neighbour if he came trespassing.

Or are they one property with two buildings? I need enlightening.

Glad you're okay. Well, 'ish', anyway, now that the weekend is over. And what are school taxes?

Your house against the dark blue of the sky is so lovely and would inspire Laura Engels. Bless young boys who help us out. Bless them one and all. We have two such lads in our apartment building and my father, aged 95, has such angels too.

We had a beautiful weekend too. I think it was the lull before the storm. It has turned very cold.
