Good grief. And yesterday it was mild enough here for me to go out into the garden in a t-shirt.... A strange autumn. Let's hope for a more normal winter!

I'm sure that , when I was a child , the first snow of the winter always fell on January 1st . Mind you , I believed in Father Christmas then , too .
