Wouldn't you think that peace lily's pot would've lost its price sticker by now???
I've been uncharacteristically vigilant about keeping the porch plants alive over the winter . . . I owe them that . . . they are such a joy to me on the porch during The Warm and Light Time. It's a little bit of an undertaking to get them all watered. I carry them from their perch in the corner of the bedroom upstairs to the bathtub and water them with the handheld shower thingie.
Works quite well, but after I've finished getting all the drenched potsful of dirt and plant back to their windowside home, my back feels as if it's been broken.
Small price, I guess.
A little drink now and then is all they ask.

I am with you on the indoor greenery. A lot of work to keep it going, but what a balm to the soul each day!
I can relate to the sore back after all that loving effort. You should be pleased June, you do very well!
And how nice to know I am not the only one with lots of 'thingies'!!
I just came in from repotting some very sad specimens, more rootball than soil, to read this, and feel rather guilty now!
When I lived in Colorado, I had a virtual forest in my living room. Here in the Pacific Northwest, however, everything is so green everywhere that I don't need to hang greenery inside any more. It's a wonderful thing to see all those pretty green things, isn't it? :-)
They look very happy for your efforts. I have a bit of a black thumb. It's a good thing that Frank's is greener,
We get so hungry for spring. Or even a blue sky day. Like today. But it's too early to move out the plants.
Agree wholeheartedly, indoor plants are definitely worth the effort. They provide oxygen, moisture -- and a balm for the hard-bitten winter soul.
Yes , they're all well worth it , and really ask for very little .
Though , I do sometimes feel rather overwhelmed by the Invasion of The Spider Plants !
Wow that's so much work. Is there no way to get a watering can so the plants can remain in their place?
They are lovely.
Rose, as I wrote "thingie," I thought, "That isn't one of my usual words, is it? Where'd I get that?"
:-P
Heidrun, I like to soak them all through and shower them . . . and a watering can wouldn't be able to do that without the runoff drenching the bedroom carpet.
There's a price to everything isn't there? We weigh the cost - looks like you're willing to pay this one. Good thing - those plants depend on you as much as you on them :)
I have so many plants, it would do me in to carry them to the bathroom for their drink. I do love having them around. Good for your health, too.
My plants are jealous -- they get a drink but not a shower. Maybe next time -- I'm sure they'd be grateful.
I read this post a long time ago and can’t remember why I didn’t comment. Perhaps I was just too busy or even ill at the time.
Houseplants die in my house, I’m no good at keeping them alive. Now, give me outdoor plants, I’ll make them flourish any day.
